Pasty Butt?

Hello everyone, new to raising chicks. I got a few chicks today. Does this look like pasty butt or possibly a scab?

it kind of looks like pasty butt i would clean up the chicks vent
(moist paper towel or wet q-tip)

I just tried cleaning it with a warm moistened paper towel. It’s vent is open but whatever it is is stuck to fluff near its vent

did you let the paper towel soak on the crud for a minute
