Paver Sand as Grit

Hello!
I have two huge bags of paver sand which is just tiny bits of gravel and I was wondering if that can be used as grit? I was going to go buy more but my boyfriend suggested I use that instead. I just want to make sure its ok. We compared the size of the gravel to the grit we bought and its the same size. Thanks for the advice!

Sand works OK for chicks as grit. If they are older than a couple - three months they should start getting the size #3 cherrystone grit or if they are free ranging they can find their own grit in the soil.

ok great thanks! they will be 3 months on the 12th of June. Ill use that until we have to move up
