Pavers around coop

There's been a raccoon eyeing our chicks and they've only been outside for three days. What do you think about these pavers around the coop? Will they do the job and protect our chicks?

That should keep them from digging under right at the fence, which hopefully the raccoon doesn't have enough sense to back up and then dig under.

Raccoons are pretty clever and may be able to unlock your hook and latch and walk right in though.

I've asked about the locks already. The feed back I've gotten seems promising. What do you think? I know raccoons are smart. I have only seen possums in our yard. My tenant said he saw a raccoon last night, which is a first. We've only had issues with possums before our chicks. One dug under the house and died. Had to take apart our floor to get him out!
