I know nobody likes the prefab coops but I like the price of this one:

The coop part is just about 2 ft by 3 ft, so just big enough for one or two adult medium sized (Leghorn-type) hens. The run totals about 16 sq ft, so not even big enough for 2.

You can build something bigger, for less money.

I concur. Also, always check the reviews for that kind of stuff. You'll end up replacing it anyway, so why not build a better one the first time 'round?

We received our Pawhut 144" large chicken coop today. We bought this before we found one near us that's made by a veteran cabinet maker for the same price. Excellent craftsmanship. FedEx delivered the two boxes. The boxes were thrashed and some parts are damaged. This is just viewing through the gashes in the boxes. Not the fault of FedEx, but being shipped from China I think. My question is, should we send it back or maybe assemble it and use it for a transition coop before putting the chicks into the main,and much larger coop.

It will make a nice broody or sick coop, or a grow out coop if you want to integrate new chicks at some point.

We ened up getting one from a local, Northwest Redworms, its the Medium Camas.
