Ye-haw, I finally got an egg from each chicken today! Five chickens, five eggs. They have started picking up production lately, ever since the days got noticeable longer. They are not jumbo eggs, by any means, but it may be because they get so many table scraps. But that works for me, and I think their diet is balanced.

Congrats!

I got five eggs today too... from 19 hens. I have a BUNCH of lazy butts.

Yeah! Bet that feels great!

I can't wait until I'm getting five or more a day - some time in early March my Lavender Orpingtons should be old enough to start laying. Those 4 girls are just 14 weeks old right now. And I have no idea when or even whether my 2 Silkies will lay as I still can't tell if they're pullets or roos. HAHA!

So for now I have a 27 week old White Leghorn egg machine and a 23 week old EE green egg layer. That's it. I was up to 3 eggs a day and then lost one EE in early January! My 23 week old Ancona still hasn't started laying yet :(

My EE was the last to stop and then my OE started up. Still getting one egg a day out of ????????? OMG not good!

Good job getting 5 eggs from 5 hens! I have 10 hens. The best I've done is once getting 11 eggs - must have been one late layer the day before - and otherwise 9 or fewer. Never made it 10 for 10 . . . yet. Still, it is winter in Wisconsin so I am generally happy to get 8 eggs and usually collect only 6 or 7.
