That's a common optical illusion with that color of bird. The actual feather itself is rounded and soft, but the kind of lacing makes it look pointed. 
Here are some young cockerels, I think they were 3-4 months old. You can easily see the pointed hackle feathers on the red laced bird. Your bird is too young for them to be reliable, though. Sex feathers usually start around 3 months.
