Well at 36 hours, he was still in his shell, so I very gently nudged him out. He's huge, he doesn't have an bloody navel, but the rear part of his body looks larger than it should - he's resting, drying off and breathing and peeping a little when I talk to him - so that's all I know at this point, I really hope he lives, time will tell. In the mean time, I'm letting broody hens hatch all of my peafowl the rest of the season. I see no reason to move the eggs to an incubator when nature is always better - and I can't have as many sleepless nights as I had last night lol. I will just take the chicks out as soon as they dry off and put them in a warm brooder, so that I can hand raise them. Wish me luck, apparently I need it with hatching peafowl.
Well I just checked on him again and he didn't make it, poor thing. It's not surprising though and I have 25 more eggs under broody hens, so I'll let ya know how that turns out.
