It is a combination of both in this case. Here is a recent pic of a yearling hen and a group pic of the parents. The cockbird I am using now is a higher percentage than the moms and remember that Spaldings do not breed true, I keep the best for future breeders to enhance the program.View attachment 3659377View attachment 3659384

I'm definitely going to have to add a black shoulder to my flock. I've always liked them but somehow never got around to getting any.

I like the male. My Spalding BS male is also white eyed. A good and a bad thing. I need to get a nice Spalding BS male that isn’t white eyed for future use..
