The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!
And I'd like your opinion please. I
Ordered from guineafarm the rare assortment Peachick and guinea keets package and they are scheduled to be shipped out today 6/16 and I think they need separate brooder when they arrive. It's 4 peas and 25 keets... What do you think?
I'm a bit concerned on their travels right now with the heat we are having that it could be too hot for them in those trucks but praying for each little guy to weather the heat in stride...
I've ordered from them and others before with Cochins and guineas but not peafowl. Anything different or special I should know or do for the little Peachicks?? I have peafowl already but never been lucky enough to have Peachicks ....
So excited! Can't wait!!

Housing them both in the same brooder is no problem, I have ten peachicks and eleven keets in the same one right now. The peas quickly outgrow the keets and it is funny to see the keets running around under the peas legs.

Good luck and I hope the state doesn't show up at your door. I for one am in lockdown until this AI settles down, what I am going to do with a couple hundred peachicks I am not sure.

I really wasn't worried before since Ive ordered thru a well known company and the bird flu seemed to be more so in chickens and turkeys but now am a bit more concerned....
We placed our order back in March and really haven't thought too much about the bird flu but yall are right, my new babies are coming from Iowa...
Too late to postpone the order... they are on their way... Guessing all I can do is be vigilant on keeping their brooder clean and be careful to wash up well before and after tending to the rest of my birds... I would hate to lose any off my current birds let alone the new ones...
Keep your fingers crossed for the little ones that they carry no viruses!!!

They'll probably be fine!

It's just surprising that you hear so little about all of this AI business...

Hope that they arrive safely, and we'd love to see pictures of the little cuties when you get them!!!
