Peachicks raised by chicken hens

I have read that while it is good to have a chicken hen hatch out peachicks it is not so good to let the hens raise them. Why is that?

At a guess, it's because chickens carry (and are resistant to) many diseases to which peachicks are vulnerable. That's why people let hens hatch quail, but don't let them raise them.

Another problem is that a chicken hen will abandon the peachicks in a couple of months where a peahen will generally take care of them until the next breeding season.
