Please, help I have a male peacock and a peahen mating season started. Once he did his mating I put up our peahen a few days later she laid her first egg then two more since.. My question is does the male have to fertilize each egg or is she good. I didn't think about this till I put her up. Before she laid in the wild and brought them to me when hatched. Now we have a safe place for her. So am I good on the eggs as the male is separated from her. I am new to the peacocks but these two showed up about three years ago has never left they usually just roam but she has lost two hatching because of this. So now I do have a safe place for her till babies hatch she likes both being in with the other birds and out and about.

She can hold sperm for about two weeks. It is better if you keep them together during the laying period but if they were getting the job done she should be ok.
Thank You, she is not sitting yet just laying. This is where she has been laying her eggs. Although this is the other female I have.
