The people I bought my peafowl from brought the male 2 days ago. Oh what a beauty! I wasn't home so they found where I had housed the female and put the male in with her and her babies. The family had been seperated for 2 weeks because of work scheduales, etc.. The next morning everything seemed fine. That afternoon the male was picking at the 3 babies and pulling feathers from the mother. I know he's mad at being confined but is it normal for him to attack 'his' family? I have seperated him into another building where he is alone, hoping he will calm down and relax a bit. I'd like to give the peafowl sometime to get used to me and their new home before I let them out and about. Is this the right approach?
