peacock spur

good morning, I walked in to the peacock pen this am and found blood everywhere, I found out one of the males spurs has become ripped or semi detached... I have chickens and other fowl but have never dealt with such so I am curious how to treat assuming I must cut the spur off? thank you

Can you get a quick picture of what exactly was broken off?

It is like a fingernail, when they get ripped off they grow back. You can put an antibiotic ointment on it for a few days but is not really necessary.
