peacock train?

when do peacocks get their train?
i think mine will be 3 this spring. so when should it get it?
I see that most people are excited about theirs!

They start getting their first trains about 2 years so your should be getting one this upcoming spring. You should be seeing some train feathers starting out now. Some of mine are longer than others though.

For example, both of these boys are two years one is a BS split peach and one is an IB Pied. Both pictures were taken earlier today.

yes, though it gets bigger over then next couple years still, but at 3 he should have a nice one. My 2 year olds are about half in already, my breeders are near full now, probably 3/4 there. This is the time of year when they start getting tehm as it takes a long time to grow a 3-4 foot feather

wow because mine has nothing at all! does the weather matter?
I not exactly sure how old mine is. the guy said it was two and that was this april.

If you can post pictures that would help. Because at 3 yrs old he should have about a 3 1/2 to 4 ft train.

I'm not exactly sure what kind he is either? the guy said it was a spalding but it doesnt look like it?

Looks like he has lived a hard life (no crest and train feathers stripped off), also looks like he may be coming 2 and not 3. You may also have to pull the train (stripped feathers) out so the new will grow back in, make sure they come out easy and NO blood in the ends.
