The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!
I have 3 free ranging peacocks that have started going to a neighbors house and sitting on their porch railing... He says they are scratching the railing and of course pooping... Any ideas on what we can do to ward them off his porch?? He's the only one that complains of my birds but if I can stop it now maybe it will prevent another problem like them getting on their vehicles and scratching one of them... He might shoot my babies first then tell me then sue me!! If you have any ideas I do need the help please! Rubber snakes?? He asked if a metal lawn ornament like in the cut out of a dog would help? His dad suggested that... No dogs live their at this time ... Anyway...any ideas to try before this gets messy are greatly appreciated!

Maybe some of that spiky plastic stuff that they use to keep dogs off carpets?

It's said good fences make good neighbors...simply build a pen and put your birds up.
They WILL start messing up the guys/or other neighbors vehicles soon or later, then he/they will get really p.o'd.

I totally agree, pen the birds and let them out when you can supervise their ranging. My sisters live about 100 yards away and a few of my birds used to go visit. It was never a problem but it seemed to be more frequent during the winter and early spring. Perhaps it is because the hens have been caged and that keep the cocks closer to home.

I've never heard of that stuff ??

I have a fourth peacock and two peahens that are penned... Guess they will have to move over and make room for the three that have to go straight to jail...do not pass go... do not collect ...u know how it goes... Just hate it as they have free ranged for years...
