Does anyone have any recommendations on keeping away Peacocks/Peahens? We live in the country on 3.5 acres, our neighbors raised/breed pheasants, peacocks, and peahens at one point. Their Lab ate all of their chickens and ducks and they don't really care about the remaining birds nor do they have an atrium. The pheasants roam around but tend to like coverage along the creek bed and do not really bother anything. The Peacocks/Peahens on the other hand like my chickens and are pretty much living at our house, they start calling around 5:30am and only go home to sleep in the trees. We chase them off constantly during the day when we are home but they come right back. They roost on our cars, house, chicken coop, ect...The male is a little aggressive (not sure that is the right word) but he chases my chickens and corners them down by the creek. So in regards my chickens dont get yard time because they are bothering them.

Am I being ridiculous and I should let them figure out how to get along? I feel guilty making my birds stay inside the coop/run just because they wont stay home. But obviously unless they are in an enclosed atrium they can fly. I am an animal lover and dont want to harm them but I dont know how else or if there is a way to detour them from coming over. Beyond the chickens they are scratching/damaging property.. Thanks in advance.

Find out what they law is on birds cause where I live or at least my general area rules r if it's on ur property its ur animal aslong as it's not endangered which peafowl rnt or what u can do is scare them if u have a gun get a few blanks and shoot near the bird it works with pheasants just make sure ur birds r in first the tree they roost in is it on ur property?

Or u could ask ur naighbour to close them in or get ride considering they dont care even if u had to catch them for ur naighbour it would be worth it for ur chickens

If he's the problem then he is the only one you need to deal with. Catch and pen him then keep him or give him away, i'd keep him those feathers are a goldmine.
Wish I knew how to discourage peacock visits, i'd do it here.
One old male visits at least twice a week. He's had an accident at some point because he's lopsided.
He comes and displays "badly" for the chickens they've gotten to where they ignore him the best they can.
He peacocks around a few hours mates with the boot scraper breeding season or not then just goes home.:hmm
