Peafowl Nutrition 101

I am on a FB page he is also on and I can tell you that he now is using a 'Whole Ingredient' form of feeding using whole grains and Ultra Kibble. He is very anti soy and does not use any soy in any form. Other supplemental feeds are mostly nuts and veggies.

I also use the whole ingredient method as well with the UK but I also give the game bird crumbles as about 1/3 of their diet.

This was indescribably helpful. We just entered the peafowl world and am so grateful to have found this.

Our hen seems to love blueberries. Is that an okay treat for her? I’d read that they liked them along with kale and bell peppers and larvae (mealworm and soldier fly). So far she’s only taken a liking to the blueberries. Just added some walnuts and celery and will pick up some shrimp and cut a banana for her when they are ripe.

What’s the best way to serve them the foods? Like…what do they prefer if they have a choice? I’m not going to be doing the slurry, but am curious if they’d rather whole or diced?

Our pea is only 7 months old and we’ve had her for three days
