Peafowl with hurt foot

Some men bring their wives flowers or chocolate. My husband brings me an injured peafowl that he found.

So now I have a young peababy (hatched this year) that up until today has been walking normal. The peafowl flock lives at my husband's work and have always been healthy. Today he noticed this one laying down and not running around with the rest. So he caught it and brought it home for me to nurse back to health.
It's toes are all curled together. After letting it settle for a few hours, the plan is to make a "shoe" to hold the toes out and maybe add some bracing to the leg. I will try to get pictures when we are working on it. Currently it is in a small dog kennel to keep it from being too active.
Any thoughts on other treatment options? I want to give him/her the best chance possible.

Update: It looks like the peacock (I think it is a male) has an injury to it's knee. I am not 100% sure the bottom portion of it's leg is viable at this time. Pictures below.

No movement below the knee, and no reaction when I was messing with the lower part of it's leg. Above the knee it did not like me to touch. I think it is ooze coming from the wound. My husband corrected me, the peacock has been injured for about a week, today was just the first day he could catch it.

I don't know. It was kinda a wild peacock. They just roam around in the pasture by my husband's work. It was raining today, so the peacock was hunkered down in a spot thaty husband could catch him. I think the wound looks infected, I have Tylan for my chickens that I am thinking of giving to him.

I would recommend giving it a good clean. Then, if you can, wrap it in a bandage so it doesn’t get worse. You might have to do it a few times. Do you know what could’ve caused it? Is there tin or something laying around? Or does it look like somethings attacked him? I can’t see it too clearly in the photos.

I did not mess with it too much tonight, I figured he was stressed enough. It doesn't look like a bite, I am more leaning towards it got it's leg caught in something and then twisted and cut it's leg in the struggle.
I pulled out some needless syringes to try and flush the leg tomorrow.
Should I just flush with pure water?
