My husband eats a lot of peanuts and boiled peanuts so I wondered if the girls can eat the shells. The Google suggests only if you grind the shells up first....what do yall say?

If you offer peanut shells , make sure that those are not salted peanut shells.

Reason for grinding,,,, Chickens will pass on things that are too big to swallow whole. I feed my chickens watermelon rinds. If I just throw them into their run area, they peck and eat what they can. Usually about half of what is there. The green outside skin gets left behind.
I have a small manual meat grinder. When I have a larger quantity of watermelon rinds, I grind them up. All of it disappears. :drool:drool:drool
Same thing would happen with your peanut shells. I think the peanut shells are mostly a fiber food. That is a good thing for all animals, as well as people.

I'm not suggesting people start eating peanut shells ,,, just fiber in their diet. :old

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome
