Can I give my hens raw peanuts?

I have given mine peanuts before. I don't give it to them all the time, but I'm sure once in a while is fine.

My neighbor gave me a 50lb bag of chopped peanuts she got for her birds. They loved it but I have never given it to them since.

I buy raw peanuts for the squirrels and birds. The chickens get their fair share too + they will eat the shells the others leave around.

I give my chickens peanuts in their feed mix (see my BYC page if interested) and they eat them every day in very small quantities. I get the roasted/unsalted ones for human consumption.

I'd feed raw, too, on occasion, but I feel that cooked is better.
