peat moss is it ok for chickens

i have 1 rooster hensi put peat moss in there coop will this hurt them i did clean it before i put it there

There are a number of professional growers who use Horticultural Peat in their brooders. I've never tried it and am kind of afraid to.

Are we talking the compressed bales of dry sphagnum peat moss?

i did clean it before i put it there

How and why did you 'clean' it?

I use the compressed dried bales in the dusting areas. No issues. I would not use it in the coop.
It tends to hold moisture and takes forever to dry back out.
It is also very heavy and costs way more then shavings here.
