Pecked, bloody comb coupled with really cold temps

Hen peepers block the chickens forward vision enough to keep them from pecking other chickens. They can still eat and drink without problems. I pen my growing roosters with my breeding roosters and peepers put on certain roosters stops all bullying.

Thanks to you both, that is a whole new world for me. I had no idea something like that even existed! I will see if we need to take things to that level.

So I went with Farnum's "Blue Lotion" vs. the standard Blue Kote, thinking the blue lotion (with its spongy applicator) might be easier to apply to a tiny comb without getting it everywhere like the spray. It was much runnier than I expected, so I got a good coating on the comb, but it also dribbled down to her beak and I think she probably ingested a bit. As far as I can tell, it didn't run into her eyes at all and her nostrils were clear. This poor girl- I probably should have just left her alone...

Tonight, roosting was very harmonious, and both Golden Comets were tucked into the middle of the 4 Wyandottes- on the other end of the roost away from the two older hens. Everyone was very serene and all settled in for the night. They got great free ranging time today since the temps warmed back up with bright sunshine, so I think that helped. I still worry for when the true winter arrives and they'll be confined more, but for today, things were calm.
