Pecked Silkie

I have 11 silkies, all separated from the rest of my chickens.

Here is a website containing GRAPHIC pics of silkie skulls showing the soft spot in their heads (like a baby):

Here is additional info. on silkies:

The silkie you have will be very lonely by herself even though she can see the others. They like to sleep in a pile on the floor of a coop. I think silkies are very sweet and it is more like having a cat or dog.

I always like adding chicks to my flock because of little risk for disease (hatchery chicks). You could always bring her into the garage in a dog crate at night to be near the chicks. Hens can kill chicks if they don't accept them as their own, so you would need to wait until they are older (and I don't know how old) to give them to her unless she's broody.

I'm going to be going through this myself in a way since the 4 chicks in my garage will be placed with the silkies until they grow up enough to go in with the other chickens. I haven't decided how old they need to be.
