Ok so this is my first duck hatch. I have 2 rouen x peckin eggs in my incubator, my temp has been a constant 99.5 and my lockdown humidity has ranged from 60 to 73 percent.
I have candled them a few times before lockdown and they looked great. At day 29 i candled them and there was a good air sac in both but no movement and the egg mass was entirely dark.
Today i was going to toss them out and decided to candle just in case. There was movement!! No pip yet. What is going on? Advice?

One or two days late is not too strange, as eggs can sometimes take a while longer to hatch than the average time. Just watch for internal pips so you can make sure they don't stay at that stage too long. Have you looked up assisted hatching in case it turns out it's necessary?

Ive started to assist the hatch. It piped and looked lively. So i gave it the night, no progress.

I'm glad you didn't throw them out! I would always wait 3-4 days after the hatch day to make sure they aren't just late hatching.

If it stays pipped for 24 hours with no progress, then you should start gently pulling away the shell, but if any veins are in the way you need to stop immediately. Do you know how long it has been pipped with no progress?
