Pecking a feather removal

If you're convinced it is feather picking, I really would try to increase dietary protein as well, in all honesty. Even with the prepared layer feed, a little extra additional protein can really help them out and can reduce or even stop a feather picking problem. (And they will totally love scrambled egg and tinned tuna, if they're anything like my lot!)

It won't hurt to try anyway... good luck x

Sounds like a moult - nothing to worry about. Give them some probiotics and extra dietary protein and calcium to help them re-grow new feathers, and keep a careful eye out for any pecking which the moult itself may trigger (they may not be able to resist the new stubbly fluffly feathers as they start growing back - very common unfortunately!), but otherwise, just need to wait for your girls to feather back up (and then they'll start laying again too).
