Hello,
I have a big problem with one of my chickens is pecking all the check, neck and head feathers out of the other chickens. I have 6 chickens, the dominate one that is doing the pecking is a Rhode Island Red. I also have 2 barred rocks (one of them is getting pecked on), and 3 Americaunas. All of their lovely check tuffs and neck feathers have been plucked out! I have a large backyard, where I let them roam around in the day, but they go into their coop at night. There doesn't seem to be any bloodshed, just taking the feathers out. It started a couple weeks ago with only one of them, but in the last week, she has pecked the other 3. I am beside myself, I don't know what to do. I bought some topical anti-pick spray called "hot pick". It isn't working, she still does it. I"ve checked for lice, none. I feed them quality pellets, plus lots of treats, and their picking of bugs etc throughout the yard. They have good food, are no confined, very much loved, why is she doing this! Also, they are all 6 months old. Any ideas? Thanks. Julie
