Pecking order or bullying?

As I was locking my 4 hens up for the night, I noticed one hen defiantly intimidated the other three. She was the last to join the others on the roost, and when she did, the others moved out of her way. As she would get close to the other hens, they would burry their heads under the next hens body. My "bully" would then peck their heads even if they were hidden. My "bully" would then reach over one hen to peck another hen who would also be turning away and burying their head. My question is.......is this typical "pecking order" behavior, or do I have a bully chicken?

Pretty typical...as long as it doesn't get too disruptive where the other hens can't rest, or draws blood, I'd not worry about it. Hens peck each other daily to establish, especially around food and/or at roosting time, and maintain the pecking order.

Thanks for your feedback. I thought it might be the "pecking order", just wanted to make sure. It's hard to watch!
