Hi, I have 7 chickens aged 9 months now, there are 4 black tailed columbians and 3 Warrens, quite large chickens but they have been quite a ‘happy’little flock with occasional squabbles
Over the last two days I have noticed a change in the behaviour of a couple of ‘my girls’ they quite aggressively peck the others, jump on their backs and pin them down, and even chase them across the garden just to jump on them and peck them,feathers are being pulled out and one chickens comb was pecked causing a minor bleed, this behaviour is causing a lot of anxiety to them and me!! One of the quieter girls has Taken to ‘hiding’ out of the way, another will not go in the coop to lay if a ‘bully’ is around
They are free range girls and although the pen is open they usually spend many hours foraging in the garden and wooded area, we are outdoors when they are so are keen to enjoy our girls once more, any advice would be greatly appreciated
