Hi,
I am new to raising chickens, so forgive me! I have 4 babies....three are 3 weeks (BO, BA, and RIR) and another that is 2 weeks (Americauna/Araucana). They were all supposed to be pullets. When we brought home the first three, the BA was larger and seemed like the dominant chick. Now, we are thinking she might be a roo, so that would explain that behavior....BUT....the other chickens still seem to be "fighting" the BA. Yesterday, I watched as the BA and the BO bumping chests and flapping their wings. The Americauna also seems to be getting into the pecking order war. With the exception of the BA, the rest of the chicks appear to be pullets.
My question is....would pullets "fight" a roo for dominance or does this seem like a bunch of pullets "fighting" for the dominant hen spot??
