Ok, so I understand the pecking order but tonight I saw something I've never seen before...... My BR hen was doing the neck and puffing feathers with 1 of my BA's... All of a sudden the BR, Maude starts chasing the BA, Winn Dixie... No big deal ... Then Maude tried to mount Winn Dixie.... ??? Do hens mount other hens??

how old are they you may have a surprise rooster

Its is common for hens or roosters to fluff out their neck feathers when fighting but mounting her sounds weird is it possible she had grabbed onto the other hens feathers and the hen who was being beat on tried to run away causing the aggressive hen to try to get a better grip

Hens may mount for domination.
