Hi Im new to keeping Chickens only had them 3 weeks. I've got 2 and one is quite dominant, but yesterday she started pecking the other chickens bottom and now its bleeding and she just keeps going for her. I know there is a pecking order but Im not sure what to do. She has also started pecking at us when we open the door to the run to put food and water in. Any suggestions on what I can do?

I would keep them apart until the hurt one gets better, but where they can see each other, if you can. I would also, and this is just me, but I would think about getting rid of the mean one.

Seperate the hurt one. Even docile chickens will peck at a red injured spot. You can get some blu-kote to spray on the hurt area--it will help it heal faster and may disguise it enough that the other chickens won't bother it.

What do they have for housing and what are you feeding them. How old are they and have they been together for awhile or did you get them at two different places an just put them together?
