pecking

i have heard different things about vinigar and salt in the chicks water and hanging cabbage corn cobs and aluminum pie pans to keep chicks from pecking so somebody please tell me about the salt and vinagar i am going to get the lotion today from tracter supply my chicks are 9 weeks old we have 25 hens and 1 rooster ( suprise rooster) we alsop have 4 chickens that we got as adult from a friend moving to arazona and 2 great peking ducks and 7 guinea fowl and this is only our first year. we moved to our little 5 acre farm in sept 2011 and now it is may2012 we also have 3 dogs and three cats. we have lost 2 chickens to cyotes and ........... whoa a little off track well as u can see i need a little help before we got the chicks i read about taking care of them for 2 weeks and then that day came they r sooooooooooo fun and you end up loving those egg laying feather friends but the need to stop the pecking so if you have had great result on a product or if u have any questions ask me chicklover99
