Peep’s secret stash

So the past few days Peep has been tossing food out of her bowl, eating some but sometimes just shoveling the food out and stomping it down. She has also collected a clump of hay in the corner of her coop. At first I thought this was unrelated

This morning when I went to take them out for the day, she was foraging in her coop, under the clump of hay she had piled up.

I moved the clump of hay and there was a small shallow ditch she scratched out in the ground, in it was a lot of the food she had shoveled out and stomped into the ground, and in that food, the ditch was filled with little pill bugs.

She left a little pit with duck food stomped into it Which attracted a bunch of pill bugs, and then covered the bugs up and was eating them at her leisure
