Ok, day 8 here on our first time ever hatching eggs with our 2 broodys...Just came in from candling eggs...
Black sexlink, sitting on 6 eggs that we had ordered thru the mail (Red Star), 5 had peeps and I even saw one move a little! The 6th egg was dark, all the way thru so I removed it...I had not been able to see anything in that one all along other then it being dark, and it had been sticky a couple times, so, I figured it best to remove it. I did not look to see what was inside, just got rid of it. Not ready for an egg-topsy at this point...
Ameraucana, sitting on 3 eggs, all clear, not doing anything, so we removed those too, and replaced with some locally bought eggs, I have no idea what kind is inside other then being brown egg layers, but I do know they are fertile, as I bought a dozen and cracked open a few...Saw the little bullseye, so they are promising!! Trying again with this hen, she has been setting for so long with no luck, I figure give it one last effort...Hopefully this will be the last effort anyway.....
