Good Afternoon
I have 6 Pekin hen's 5 X Black & 1 X Blue I also have 2X Pekin Roosters 1X Black & 1X White all free range but come home to roost @ night, My question is if they pair will their chicks be mixed like if the white Rooster & Black hen's bread would their chicks be mixed or if the Black Rooster & Blue hen paired would I have mixed colours? not sure how this works any help would be appreciated. Also my black Rooster is very cheeky & attacks us while out in the garden, thankfully he doesn't fight with the other rooster just me, the kids & the dogs is there anything I can do to stop this?
Have a great evening everyone & thank you.

Black and blue come from the same breeding, so crossing them you should get black, blue, and splash. Crossing black and white I believe you get either color but I'm not positive.

An aggressive rooster generally will continue to be aggressive. So you need to decide if you want to put up with it or not. Some can be changed, some grow out of it and others remain aggressive.

My Cochin or pekin bantam roosters will fight yearly, so don't be surprised if you see it one day. I generally let mine settle it, but my birds aren't confined.

Chicken color genetics are an interesting thing to work with. Black and blue chicken offspring will most likely result in black chicks with the occasional blue and splash.

However, black and white is a whole different story. A common misconception is that you can get a gray chicken, or a white chicken with black spots (vice versa), but it’s almost everything but that. A chicken that would have both colors is possible, but I am against this.

Doing this contaminates bloodlines of chickens. It does not affect them, and makes them more diverse, but the offspring can no longer be relied on to produce more offspring with desired traits. Even if the first offspring are white, 5 generations later you may get black chicks.

As for aggressive roosters, some get better, and some don’t. My Wilkie rooster was not aggressive to me, but to the other hens, but only when I was around. When I left, however, they all got along.

Thank you so much

With black x blue, half the chicks will be black and half will be blue.

Blue, black and splash is when you have two blue parents.
