Pekin Duck Nest Flood She is about 100 ft from it just watching and still raining?

Hi BYC,
Our friend Pekin duck built nest great area except today flooding, she has stood 100 ft or so from them for at least 8 hours and still watching.

The eggs may have floated away by now,*She is still watching

It is still raining water most likely won't subside until tomorrow.
Last year she done the same thing me not knowing what I was doing I got them all up out......didn't work out well

Any Advice?

I have seen her build a whole new nest in the past.

She lives at city lake across street decided to build nest in our backyard.

If it is safe for you to rescue the eggs, you could try that.

Sometimes we see heartbreaking things - ducks do have emotions, as far as I can tell.

Difficult to know what might help her most.

Thank you for reply, has been about 24 hrs water is slowing going down

Checking earlier eggs still in nest but in water left them alone, she and her two ....protectors I call them
watching.

about 5 hours ago water is down a little she is right there, I didn't want to disturb her
but I bet she has rebuilt upgraded nest.

I'm glad I didn't bother to rescue eggs, if they were not in their nest I would have tried, Mommy right here, all day break swimming.
Now she is back to work.
