Pekin ducks...........bad girl....good boy

I have two Pekins..............male and female. The male is about as sweet and precious as he can get. He will let me hold him, love him, etc. for as long as I want to. No struggling to get down, no quacks or any sounds for that matter. Just a great fella. The female however.............is awful. She acts like I'm about to chop her head off and when I do catch her, she is hollering the whole time I'm holding her. Talk about a big mouth! She's full of it. I sooo love the male more than her. QUESTION: Are all male ducks this way? Are all females this way?
I will be getting a duck order from Holderreads in a couple of weeks and I sure would love it if all 10 would act like the male Pekin that I have.

My fe,ale pekins dont like being held even though they were held as ducklings cant answer for drakes as i dont have one.

This made me laugh, because my female Pekin does the same thing. You'd think it was torture that I was trying to pet her! She was really cuddly when she was under 4 weeks old.. How old are yours? I've heard that they go through a scardy cat juniville phase and will grow out of it, so maybe that's just it. I just respect her bounds and don't chase her. She'll come up to me if I have food, but that's about it right now. Can't say anything about the pekin drake...

I have 4 Pekins- gender yet to be determined and they ALL act like this. Around 1 week old they were less freakish but since then (and they are only 4 weeks old right now) they act like I am plotting roast duck every time they see me. It causes the others to act freaky too. LOL Maybe they are all girls? haha!
