Okay so my Pekin is about 7mo old and just laid her first egg yesterday. She is a lone duck, with no drake so I know it's not fertile. My question is, are pekins year-round layers or just seasonal?

According to the book I've read "The Backyard Homestead", Pekins lay about 125-225 eggs per year. My Pekin has start laying last week and she has laid 5 so far. I believe chickens usually stop laying or lay very little during the fall because they begin to molt. So ducks either lay all year round or just not in the fall like some chickens. I'm new to ducks and have just been reading books and I haven't read anything saying they don't lay in a certain season although I could be wrong. I hope the information I provided helped in some way!
