I purchased 5 white pekin ducks, and got a khaki campbell packing peanut with them. They are all doing great, but one of the pekin ducks is not feathering out. They are all the same age - 7 weeks old. He (we think it's male based on his current quack) has always been smaller than the others. All the other have feathered out pretty well but this one is still just fuzzy. He has a couple "adult" feathers, his tail is slim but there, and then a feather here and there that are a little curly. Does he just need more time or is there something wrong?

He might just need some extra help in the vitamin department, some ducks are slower to develop and if he is eating, drinking and keeping up in all the other ways. I'd just add some vitamins to his water, all of them would benefit by some since they are using so many growing in feathers and such. Theres a product called Poultry Nutri Drench that you can get at TSC that is really good and probably others too. He is a cutie and hopefully with some extra nutrients he'll catch up. And

ps what are you feeding them. Extra niacin would probably be good too at their age. They need more than chick feed can provide.

The little guy is keeping up in all other ways (well except maybe swimming - he gets pretty water logged, but its been hot out and they only have a small kiddie pool so I haven't been too worried about it). I started the ducks on Blue Seal Chick N' Game Bird Starter, we have since moved to the grower pellets. I will try adding the Poultry Nutri Drench and see how he fairs.

Thanks for the info and the welcoming... Lot of information on the board, I usually just browse around and find just what I need.
