The family we got our ducks from got them at tractor supply as day old ducklings. They were sold as pekins but I'm learning is possible they're crossed with aylesbury... I was reading the pink bill is definitive of aylesbury and orange/yellow is Pekin and if they're crossed either could pop up. We have 9 ducklings we hatched ourselves, some have pink and some have orange/yellow bills. Their mom has a pink bill and her body sits a bit lower to the ground, dad has a orange bill and is much taller. I've also read you can tell gender by bill color.

I got three day-old pekins this summer and one had a pink bill as well. She grew super fast, developed splayed leg (which she was cured of), and I also wondered if she was an Aylesbury, since she was so much bigger than the other two and the pink bill color. I called the supplier and they did not think that was possible, but they also sold jumbo pekins, so I thought that they might have accidentally given us one of those. In the meantime, I read about many people who had pekins with pink bills .Of my three pekins she ended up to be the medium sized one, with no belly hanging low, where one of my orange beak ducks hangs low like a goose, which I thought was more characteristic of Aylesbury. Not sure how all the genetics get mixed up with these ducks, but they're all beautiful and have such fun personalities.
