I have 3 Pekin ducklings and I am wondering how large (length/height) do they usually get as adults? What should the minimum house size and pen area be? I don't have a ton of space to work with, but I want to make sure that they have enough.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep their food/water area from becoming a huge mess outside? I already struggle with this daily and they aren't even old enough to be outside yet. I can't imagine the muddy mess when they are in their permanent outside residence!

I would appreciate any photos of pekin house/pen setups!

I have runners, but to give you an idea of size, runners are 3.5 to 5 pounds. They stand 16 to 24 inches tall. I also have buffs, same weight, but only a foot tall. I have nine runners and four buffs.

They have about 100 square feet for their night pen. During winters like this, I am so glad for the room.

Here is the watering station. You could do something similar for water and food.
