I thought I was supposed to "lockdown on Sunday" Did I write down this wrong or am I getting surprise Easter Ducklings?????

I've never incubated duck eggs before.....These were from Pekin ducks....

Do Pekins have a shorter rate of time than other ducks before lockdown.

Came in and found a sound and they were still in turner...Yikes....Well, they're all out and we're in lockdown.......

Praying for a safe and happy Hatch, especially since they were rocking and rolling .......

I'm giving myself the bad momma lecture.....

Temp was right on so I know it wasn't too hot and humidity has been great....

So what's up?????

Need some thoughts, prayers and hatching thoughts Please!

It can take a couple of days from pip to hatch. They may not actually come out of the egg until Sunday.

Heres Hopping you get a good hatch!

Okay we're up to 5 and wow it still looks like more!!! What a nice Surprise. I consider this a special Easter miracle......My husbands sister passed away the same day that these little ducklings started being born early......I know this might sound strange but they are a wonderful comfort to me.....such nice new life!

Have a blessed one.....

I'll keep you posted on this count.....I'm going to have to call them my Rock and Rollers since they were on the turner until the very very very last minute!

I've had the same sort of experience, only with puppies instead of ducklings. It really does help pull you back into life. Congrats on your Pekin babies!

The same thing happened with my Pekins last year and they started hatching 6 days early on Easter day! One of the eggs happened to be a surprise Indian Runner-Pekin mix and it was the very last to hatch 2 days later. The first egg hatched on Easter then the following 7 hatched through out the next 2 days. Maybe they do hatch earlier than other types of ducks? I know that if the temp is higher they will hatch sooner too. This was my first hatch ever and let me tell you, it was a huge surprise that they came early!

Happy Easter!!!! We're now up to 7 of them and maybe more....very very very foggy window.....undid the 2 vents....My little Miracle Easter hatch.....Wish I could take them all the children's sunday school this morning, but I have no battery operated incubator! So I dare not take them....I could walk them to church - only about a mile, but wouldn't dare risk them.....I'll just have to wait a few more weeks and bring them in then...

What a glorious Easter morning...Must go and wake up Hubby for services!

Have a happy and blessed day!
Nancy
