I'm a new chicken owner and am starting my flock. I have a nice coop and would like to use Advanced Bedding Management (ABM) as litter. I use this bedding for my horses and it's great--very absorbent and cuts down on flies. It is made from 100% whitewood and comes in pellet form.

Would this be safe for use with chickens?

Thanks!

I'm with Katy. I would be afraid they would think it was food. I probably wouldn't use it.

WELCOME TO BYC, by the way!!! Glad to have you!

Probably depends on how big the pellets are. If they are about the size of feed they may eat it and get plugged up. If they are the size of quarter rolls, then you'd be fine.
