Hi all,

I am the proud new owner of 5 PP hatchlings as of today (couldn't be happier!), and I noticed that they come in a bit of a variety of colors.

I was wondering if this particular variety of birds was genetically like Blue, and that the entire clutch wouldn't be the same color. Or, if the difference in color would indicate gender.

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

If they are anything like chickens then possibly it could indicate gender but I've personally never raised PP before so I'm no expert. I would LOVE to see them though... they sound really pretty!

I only have their hatch pics right now (yes I hatched them under a bantam cochin, lol). Here is an example of one of the ones that hatched out pure white:

Here are two that hatched out slightly spotted with washes of grey and brown:

Here is the most spotted one, you can see it's back is covered:

I'll try to get better pics of them now that they are in the brooder. Butterscotch the hen did a really good job of hiding them from the camera when they were under her. We originally planned on letting her raise them, but she did too good of a job of hatching, and her little bantam butt can't cover 7 turkey babies.
