Penicillin needs to be warmed up before injected?

I was told at the feed store that I need to warm up the penicillin before administering it to my chicken (actually, he had never heard of anyone giving penicillin to a chicken before i asked him about it

) but another thread on BYC mentioned that the penicillin absolutely must be kept cold at all times.
What do i do?

Penicillin must be kept refrigerator for storage. Once you've filled a syringe you want to warm it to at least room temperature before injecting. I fill the syringe, remove the needle and put in my shirt pocket for a while to warm it. Cold serum is painful and more likely to form a knot.

definitely don't want a knot. Thanks for helping me navigate the info. One more question. I kept the entire, unsealed bottle unrefrigerated for about six hours. Do you think it'd still be safe to use or should I chuck it? I just don't want to spend money I can't really afford to spend...
