Penny's not laying! I don't know why. what to do, what do?

My EE Penny hasn't been laying lately!
The nest box is fairly clean,
she has food and water available,
she doesn't appear to be molting,
and she isn't broody.
She is pretty picky about how clean the nest box is though.
If it's perfectly clean, she lays and if there's just one poop she gets frustrated.
I don't know.

if shes just a pullet its common for her laying to be spaced in different incriments. they arent very consistant.

If she doesn't seem ill to you and is her normal perky self, then maybe it's the heat. How hot is it where you are? Was she laying during the winter or is she a new layer?
I have one that hasn't laid in over a week and she's only been laying about six weeks; in fact mine seem to be just trying to stay cool. I put a crate on the floor with straw in it in front of the fan so they could have a choice to lay in the open where it was cooler. A bunch of mine started laying in that, so maybe Penny is just too hot right now.

She's bout two years, she normally lays slower in the winter.
Maybe it IS just the heat. They haven't really been pecking around either.
They've been SLEEPING UNDER THE TREE!!
All the rest have been laying at their normal rate though.

Oh, it's in the hundreds. 102,104,99 around there,
but it's FINALLYgetting a LITTLE warmer though.

Joe, I bet it's the heat. Mine are slowing down in the heat, too. Mine laid well all winter long and when they do that, they usually slow down in the summer anyway. Guess the poor girls need a break sometime, huh?

Im with Cynthia....I think its the heat. And I hear ya being short on eggs. Out of 11 hens, 1 1/2 yr olds, I get 5 eggs a day, IF IM LUCKY!! DANG this heat...go away already!!

Out of 19 currently laying, I got 10 eggs today and the other day, only 9, and I know it's partly the heat and partly some are beginning to molt.
