My girls are about 16 wks. We heared that giving them people food is ok but we don’t know what’s safe and what’s not safe. So you guys give your chickens people food? And if so what?

As long as you avoid avocado (it contains persin which is toxic to birds and large animals like cattle), excess onion, anything sugary or salty or deep fried or highly processed, and raw potato (no green ones either) you should be good. Mine love tomatoes as a treat. Just keep people food as a treat.

Anything other than their main feed is considered a treat and shouldn't make up more that about 10% of their diet. But if you feed them lots of treats (or leftovers) one day just give them a few days of no treats. Ours got my failed cheese scones yesterday. I tried a new recipe but I think measuring out the unsweetened yoghurt in a jug (as if it were a liquid) rather than in the measuring cup was where I went wrong. They were rather flat and heavy.
