12 of 15 eggs finished hatching 1.5 days ago. I performed a float test, each one floated with basically just the air cells above water. I can't see any movement when candling, and no movement in the water. 2 of the 3 eggs were smaller embryos than the rest on day 18, the 3rd was normal, like the other 12 that hatched. Any advice? still viable? wait another day? I have read from others saying they have had day 25 hatches, so when do I give up?

how did this turn out

did they ever hatch?

i have five at day twenty four that didn't wiggle but seemed to be floating in the correct place for viable eggs. i tested them last night and they're still in the incubator.

i did a search on it last night

basically you get some 100 degree water, float your eggs in it
and depending where they float, they are still viable

high floaters (45% or more egg above the surface) and sinkers aren't going to hatch

don't you risk hurting them if you take them out though? i've got 3 that are doing nothing, day 23 here...

I thought the float test was to see movement. If the chick is still alive, you will be able to see the little movements when it's floating in water.
