We bought infested quail and our chickens are now infested.

We bought Permectrin for the chickens but need to know if we can use it on the quail. Quail housing is built onto hen house.

I reached in for quail eggs yesterday and as I walked away I felt like my neck and hair were moving. I had propped the quail roof open with my head and was immediately covered with bugs. I went bananas!

We lost two quail. I am wondering if this is why. They seemed fine the day before. Just noticed all these bugs Wednesday pm. Treating today.

You Can Also "shake And Bake" Them--- Take An Old Feed Bag, Place The Bird In It And Sprinkle A Little "seven" Dust On Its Back, And Then Close The Bag And Gently Shake It--- There By Coating The Bird All Over. It Sounds Funny But Works Like A Charm! Any New Bird Coming Here Gets The "shake And Bake" Treatment--- We Dont Have Any Parasite Problems, And Never Have Had Any Dispite The Fact That I Have Acquired Birds In The Past That Have Mites, Lice, And Even Stick Fleas--- This Along With A Good Quarentine Policy Helps Greatly!

Basically The Way We Do It Is=== Upon Arrival Here At The Farm The Animal Is Carefully Inspected--- Lice, Mites, Scaley Mites, Stick Fleas, Etc... The Bird Gets The Shake And Bake Treatment, And De-wormed, Then Placed In Quarentine And Observed, Re-inspected And Repeat Treatments Are Given As Needed Until The Animal Is Clear Of Any Possible Parasites And Possible Contageous Disieases. Then Introduced To The Flock. As Long As We Observe This Ritual We Never Have Any Problems

But The Only 2 Times We Strayed From It Caused Big Grief........ So For Us It Was Live And Learn The Hard Way!
