Somewhere on the internet I found a site explaining how to build a folding roost. The roosting bars themselves were perpendicular to each other rather than running parallel to each other. Does anyone have any information on how to build this sort of roost? Right now I have a 9 foot roosting bar sitting over a poop board. I still want the poop board but want to construct the roosting portion to be on hinges to enable me better access to the poop board. I am thinking I could get more roosting space using the perpendicular bars. How much space would I need on each bar for my full size chickens (orpingtons, giants, americaunas, etc.)? Thx

Can you please post pictures of your set-up?
How far up is the surface of the roost to the surface of the board? I've found 13" to be a good height for accessibility under the roost for scooping and to keep roosted birds from giving head shots to birds walking the board looking for a roost spot.

Need to see a link to this.

My roosts are just 8" above the board, I use a short handled hoe to assist in cleaning.
Here's some posts about it, they're kind of old, but changes are noted.
...and the threads these posts are in has a ton of examples of poop boards.
